Who is Jesus?

This website is based on the 1611 bible so all verses will be quoted from this translation and appear from the online version of this bible generally. I would also encourage you to refer to your copy or download the PDF documents from the online bible links above and study/share them freely. (Sometimes the online version is not the same as the original text so use the parallel facsimile provided to verify) I have done my best to make the original texts easier to view online by including a table of contents with direct links to books and letters in the bible but you will need to use some persistence and determination. (Patience too)

Studies here focus on how modern translations alter key biblical concepts by changing/omitting words and removing text (as in this case) that break the consistency of the bible and confuse many. This means teachings that the early church took for granted have been lost in the modern era. This leads to God’s church being significantly less effective, not knowing their true adversaries and open to basic error. I hope that we can in some small way help this message spread.

Some critics say that Acts 8:37 (below) should not be included however that is simply not the case. Tyndales 1534 translation includes it as does the earlier Wyclife 1380 using Jerome’s Latin. (see video presentation) The Cranmer 1539 also confirms this verse. There is no translation where this verse was not present.

And Philip said, If thou beleeuest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered, and said, I beleeue that Iesus Christ is the Sonne of God.

So why then do so called modern bibles omit this critical verse? (Hint: Manuscript used is Vatican) Who would want to remove this verse?

1 John 5:5 Who is he that ouercommeth the world, but he that beleeueth that Iesus is the Sonne of God?

Matthew 4:4 But he answered, and said, It is written, Man shall not liue by bread alone, but by euery word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Further to the above verse we find:

1 Corinthians 12:2-3 Yee know that yee were Gentiles, caryed away vnto these dumbe idoles, euen as ye were led.

3 Wherefore I giue you to vnderstand, that no man speaking by the spirit of God, calleth Iesus accursed: and that no man can say that Iesus is the Lord, but by the holy Ghost.

And

Matthew 7: 21-23 Not euery one that saith vnto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdome of heauen: but he that doth the will of my father which is in heauen.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, haue we not prophecied in thy name? and in thy name haue cast out deuils? and in thy name done many wonderfull works?

23 And then wil I professe vnto them, I neuer knew you: Depart from me, ye that worke iniquity.
