Going to discuss Isaiah chapter 24 based on a viewer request. And I hope that you’ll find this chapter to tie in a lot of interesting prophecies that we’ve see going on today. Please look at the screen or turn in your Bibles to Isaiah chapter 24. I’m going to read verses one and two together.

1 Behold, the Lord maketh the earth emptie, and maketh it waste, and turneth it vpside downe, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

2 And it shall be as with the people, so with the priest, as with the seruant, so with his master, as with the maid, so with her mistresse, as with the buyer, so with the seller, as with the lender, so with the borower, as with the taker of vsurie, so with the giuer of vsurie to him.

3 The land shall be vtterly emptied, and vtterly spoiled: for the Lord hath spoken this word.

I’m going to cover today a few things. First of all, I’m going to give an overview of the chapter, what it’s about, and I’m going to give a vocabulary lesson. And I’d like to do this to help people who are reading this chapter remember the critical vocabulary that we need to understand the spiritual things taught. I’m going to go through some notable verses and related chapters that tie into Isaiah chapter 24. I’m going to talk about the meaning of the curse and then I’m going to conclude the sermon. And I’m going to do this all in about 20 minutes or so because I’m trying to promote individual studying as I give sermons. I think that will be the most effective way to get people in their Bibles and understanding spiritual things if they are saved Christians. So an overview of this chapter would be described as the people of the earth have failed to believe on God’s word.

Therefore, by default, the King of Babylon has placed false testimonies in the markets and he’s been given all power to deceive the world. The covenant has been broken and God will carry out his will as he has spoken previously through the prophets, fewer saved, but God is merciful. God is very patient and merciful with us, in spite of the fact that many who profess to be Christians just can’t believe in every word testimony. And one example of this is one of the easiest lessons for a saved Christian to see. I’ll qualify. It is in the Song of Solomon, chapter two, verse seven. Solomon is holding a drunk woman in his arms. I’ve covered this subject a number of times in previous sermons, but it’s something that is so easy to see as you read the book.

It doesn’t make any sense unless it’s a drunk woman in his arms. And yet modern Bibles will substitute the word for she please to hide the identity of the drunk woman. And they will put it or he or even something else that makes no sense at all. And the modern Bibles just make countless changes to God’s word and who’s pushing back? Few. So God is obviously hurt, upset and angered by the idolatry on earth, especially in this evil and adulterous generation that we live in, where there are countless abominations biblically that have been spread through the markets and huge profits are being made by copy writing these abominations and putting Babylonian scholarship commentary in to receive copyrights. And it’s all foolish to God.

I’m going to show a screen. If you read Isaiah, chapter 24, you need to know your spiritual vocabulary as it relates to the authorized version of 1611. A reminder that blood is symbolic of doctrine or the word of God. Jesus Christ shed his blood for the forgiveness of sins, but he is also the word. And spiritually they are equivalent. It says in one John chapter five, there are three that bear witness in the earth the Spirit, the water and the blood. The water in the blood are symbolic of the word of God, and the Holy Spirit bears witness to the words that he gave the prophets when he moved them to record them in the written testimony that we are to live by. Seek ye the book of the Lord and God gave us the word. Great was the company that published it.

I’m paraphrasing, but that’s what God says. The curse is ultimately going back to Genesis, chapter three. Yet God said it is called wormwood, or the word of Lucifer. Lucifer’s job is to constantly cast doubt all the time on God’s word. And when we do not listen to the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and we get doubt in our hearts, then we get ourselves into trouble. Fire is symbolic of words. It could be God’s words or a counterfeit to God’s word. Jerusalem is a spiritual city of all professing believers. Jesus Christ, God’s word, the word made flesh, lamp, a Bible, the word of God, Jesus Christ. Leanness, lack of spiritual nourishment, because people just can’t believe God’s word.

So spiritually. They’re lean because they’re famished. Pitts is Babylon, the false church of the world. Wine is doctrine, symbolic of the word. And because God has spoken his word and people don’t believe on it, many people don’t believe on it. The world is drunk because of the words of his holiness, because they don’t believe the word of God. That’s what God says. I’m going to go into the curse a little bit deeper. There are some places that I’ve cited here and I invite everyone to read independently and study your Bibles. But wormwood is revealed to be a two edge flying sword, a counterfeit to the word of God, burning, as it were, a lamp.

In Revelation chapter eight, verse eleven, the curse of the earth that is so believable to the heathen world that they will swear that it’s the word of God. Everyone will. Zechariah, chapter five. God describes it further. It’s a two edge sword that is the curse of the earth that cuts people off because they swear it’s. The word of God calls it the curse of the earth. Ezekiel chapter 32, we see it again. It is a sword that God places in the hand of the king of Babylon. In Isaiah 34, we see a sword that is the curse of the earth. Psalm 75, verse eight. This time the curse is a cup of red wine that makes the earth drunk. And whose hand is it in the hand of the King of Babylon?

For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red: it is full of mixture, and he powreth out of the same: but the dregges thereof all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drinke them.

These are just a few examples of God describing wormwood, the false testimony that Lucifer throws in front of all the children of pride to make them drunk and to cause confusion and cast doubt on the word of God. And it doesn’t matter if you’re an atheist or agnostic or you profess to be some type of Christian. If you don’t believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and his every word testimony, you’re going to have penalties at the Day of Judgement. I’m going to go back to Isaiah chapter 24 and I’m going to point out something very noteworthy. I’m going to read verses 16 and 17 from the uttermost part of the earth. Have we heard songs even glory to the righteous, but I said, my leanness, my leanness, woe unto me the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously. Yeah, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.

Fear and the pit and the snare are upon the inhabitant of the earth. Anytime God repeats himself in Scripture, there is a special prompt that I get to study that very carefully, because it is a precept that is repeated at least twice. It’s repeated and then it’s set again, and it’s a special area of concern that we need to take heed to. So if we turn to the book of Malachi and we read chapter two, God, that’s one out of a number of chapters that God goes into. What is going on in Isaiah chapter 24, and he describes the treacherous dealers in that chapter and how he’s corrupted the seed, the curse of the earth. Biblical abominations are spread about. If it were possible, even the very elect would be deceived. Where is the faith?

No one will escape in every word judgment from God. These are all lessons tied into Malachi, chapter two. You may not find all of them directly written in that chapter, but God cross references them throughout the rest of Scripture and then he lets us know what the pit is. It says in Proverbs chapter 23,

27 For an whore is a deepe ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit.

Now, without focusing on the literal meaning, the spiritual meaning is obviously revealed throughout the rest of Scripture. It says in Revelation chapter 17,

1 And there came one of the seuen Angels, which had the seuen vials, and talked with me, saying vnto mee, Come hither, I will shew vnto thee the iudgement of the great Whore, that sitteth vpon many waters:

2 With whom the kings of the earth haue committed fornication, and the inhabiters of the earth haue beene made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

So again, this is a common theme that you’ll find throughout God’s testimony, throughout the entire Bible. And why is this happening? Look down at the bottom. Matthew, chapter 15.

14 Let them alone: they be blinde leaders of the blinde. And if the blinde lead the blinde, both shall fall into the ditch.

If you’re looking to your religious leaders to lead you to all truth, that may happen if they’re saved and sincere. But all of us have to follow Jesus Christ and obey the Holy Spirit when it comes to seeking out God’s Word in an every word testimony, the world is lost.

The world is drunk on the wine of the wrath of her, fornication the great whore is spiritually. Sodom in Egypt, a city in a country that sits on seven hills or mountains. And there’s one place on earth that fits this description, and that is the Vatican. Rome and everybody, pretty much everybody in the professing Christian community agrees. Rome has always historically been associated with Babylon, whether you’re raised Catholic or Protestant. It’s almost universally understood to be Babylon, because it’s a city and a country, as it says in Revelation, Chapter eleven. And the world leaders kiss the ring of the Pope. Almost all of them do. So God will not conceal them. But you have to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. So we want to avoid the pit. We want to come out from her. God calls us out. He says, Come out from her.

My people and her corruptions of the word of God are called sorcery and idolatry and have made the earth drunk. So we want to escape this woman. Recently, the media released a news blurb that the Pope endorsed same sex civil unions. The Vatican will spin that they’ll have clarifications on where the Pope stands, but at least I appreciate that they’re now coming out and revealing more of who they truly are. I don’t think the Papacy has changed at all since the beginning of time. Rather, God is not concealing them as he promises. In Job Chapter 41, it says

34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a king ouer all the children of pride.

Make no mistake, if you are Catholic or you’re not Catholic, the Pope is described by Jesus Christ as Antichrist. And his job is to flood the market with seemingly an unending, confusing amount of different Bibles or testimonies, none of which make any sense to a born again Christian. But he causes confusion and he floods the world with the testimonies out of the mouth of Behemoth that God talks about in the Book of Revelation.

And he also talks about this extensively in Job chapter 40 and 41. So we want to escape this prison that people are in because of pride, because they just can’t believe in every word testimony. So in conclusion, an assembly of nations will bring forth the curse, because people do not believe in Jesus Christ. It says in Luke chapter 18

8 I tell you that he wil auenge them speedily. Neuerthelesse, when the Son of man commeth, shall hee find faith on the earth?

God is merciful and his mercy and doth forever, and he is patient and long suffering and kind, and as long as you’re alive, if you can push the pride out of your heart, and if God takes the hardness out of it, you can be saved by believing on Jesus Christ the word of God, the word made flesh. But you have to believe his word is true.You can’t have doubt in your heart and God will receive you and chasing you and scourge you, and then you’ll have peace. It says in John chapter ten, if he called them Gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken. I worship Jesus Christ, the one that had no bones broken when they took Him down from the cross.

Of course, the soldiers made merchandise out of his garments right away. And that foreshadows what we do in the so called Bible business, by making merchandise out of His Word. And you can see, you can look around and see how confounded all the merchants are. And all the scholars ask somebody if they’re willing to defend in every word testimony. And who will you find out there that will do that? Hardly anyone. Few. A lot of people can cast doubt on the AV 1611. They can say they prefer the pure Cambridge edition, or they prefer the Geneva Bible, or they prefer the English Standard Version, or they prefer the new King James. But will they ever defend those Bibles as an every word testimony?

No, they can’t, because those Bibles have had dross introduced into them, or they were never purged of draws. How do we know this? The Holy Spirit has a system built into the text so that dross can be removed precept upon precept. But you have to have faith. If you have faith, then this will be revealed to you in God’s time frame. So in conclusion, the authorized version of 1611 has a reoccurring theme over and over that if you don’t believe Jesus Christ and his words, you’re going to be drunk on the false testimonies of Babylon.

And in the end, an assembly of nations will bring forth an ecumenical Bible that God will certainly tell us that everyone will confess as the word of God, because they don’t know the Lord Jesus Christ and they’re confounded because they don’t have the testimony of Jesus Christ written in their foreheads and they’re not covered by the blood of the Lamb.
